Joseph Payne Memorial Classic 5K 2014 Route

UFUKUZO developed this route for the Masters Athletic programme organised by Dr. Dennis Blackman in the early 2000s. Athletes run the first 700 metres on the track – starting at the normal track 1500 meter START but run in the REVERSE direction. They leave the Stadium through the Nova Scotia Gate and run as the below map. Then on return, they enter the National Stadium through the Nova Scotia Gate, join the athletic track at the normal 200 meter START and run the final 600 meters on the track in the normal direction. They finish at the official FINISH line in the stadium.
Turn-by-turn description:
1. START 4:30 PM on the athletic track, National Stadium
2. Run one complete loop of the athletic track in an anti-clockwise direction
3. At the 200m mark on the second loop, make an exit of the Stadium through the Nova Scotia Gate on to Codrington Road (Highway 2).
4. Follow the road on the periphery of the Stadium passing the Rifle Range, the Netball Stadium, the National Stadium Entrance to the road junction near the Barbados Lumber Co.
5. Turn left and follow Codrington Road to its junction with Spooners Hill Road (2.3 Km)
6. Turn left and follow Spooners Hill Road to its junction with Bush Hall Road
7. Turn left and follow Bush Hall Road (Bush Hall Yard Gap) to its junction with Bush Hall Main Road and Savannah Road (3.7 Km)
8. Turn left and run along Bush Hall Main Road to its junction with Codrington Road
9. Turn left and enter the Stadium through the Nova Scotia Gate
10. From the entry point on to the track (200 m start point), run one complete loop of the athletic track
11. Start a second loop but enter the chute at the Stadium’s Finish Line (5.0 Km)
